Collaboration Aids Military Family at Christmas

Eviction Notice

On the Friday before Christmas, Associated Churches received a call from the Family Readiness office at the I-293rd Indiana National Guard. We were informed that one of their soldiers and his family were being evicted from their living quarters that day. In addition to the soldier and his wife, there were three children involved (age 4, age 2, age 9 months). Because of their eviction, they were being considered “homeless” by Child Services and the children were going to be removed from the care of the parents.

Through a collaboration between Associated Churches and the Northeast Indiana Base Community Council, we were able to secure emergency housing for the family. We also provided an emergency supply of food for the family, as well as, Christmas presents for the children. Santa doesn’t just work on Christmas Eve!
